Calder Community Cares

Helping to alleviate poverty, isolation and loneliness in the Upper Calder Valley

Calder Community Cares is one of the three local food bank organisations supported by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge. Our renewed grant of £200 per month for the next six months will help towards providing the resources they use so well.

Calder Community Cares (CCC) has been doing its best to help the people of Calderdale since the beginning of COVID-19. Starting out with delivering food and prescriptions to those in need, they have since expanded to provide support and events for people in need in our local area.

Their work includes everything from community events to simply keeping people warm. They work with families in need, refugees, and people throughout the Calder Valley to help reduce the effects of poverty and isolation. Since the summer of 2022, they have also operated the Calder Community Kindness shop to help raise funds for their work, and other local good causes.

Jan Lymer, founder of Calder Community Cares says: “Kindness is our currency, and it’s a currency our community has in abundance”.

If you’d like to help Calder Community Cares, you can donate or get in touch through their contact page at https://caldercares.org.uk/contact-us/. You can also register for assistance (or refer someone else) through the link and organisations who would like to make referrals can register.
