The event attracts thousands of visitors, from near & far. This is not just a Duck Race. Throughout the day there will be
a variety of entertainment, including children's rides, charity stalls and music. It's a fun day out for all the family.
This year we have some very exciting news, we have received support from Jet2 Holidays and The Travel Centre, Mytholmroyd.
First prize for this year’s event will be a holiday provided by The Travel Centre in association with Jet2!
All the usual cash prizes will still be available: 2nd prize £300, 3rd Prize 200, 4th Prize £100 and 5th prize £50.
The Duck Race starts at approximately 3.15pm when the ducks are all launched at the same time into the river from
St George's Bridge. Up to 10,000 individually numbered yellow ducks will race down Hebden Water to the finish line
at West End bridge. Throngs of spectators watch from every possible vantage point.
Tickets for the Duck Race cost £1 each, available on-line and from numerous shops and pubs in the town,
displaying brightly coloured posters, and from the Visitor Centre besides the Marina.
Tickets will also be on sale from the Rotary stall in St Georges Square
on several weekends before Easter and on Easter Monday.
Alongside the duck race, we hold a Business Duck race, starting before the main race at 3.00pm,
principally aimed at local businesses and organisations.
Any organisation or individual can buy a green, red, or blue duck, at a cost of £10 per duck, with a fantastic
first prize this year of City Break for two with Jet2 Holidays. There are also 2 prizes of a meal for two at Il Mulino
restaurant in Hebden Bridge
