18th Calder Valley (Hebden Bridge) Scouts
The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge is pleased to announce a £700 start-up grant awarded to the re-formed 18th Calder Valley (Hebden Bridge) Scouts. A new team has reopened the troop in 2025. This grant will help to ensure Scouting is affordable for all young people and support initial rent costs as the troop grows. We wish the Scouts every success as they welcome new members to their Beaver, Cub and Scout groups – to enjoy fun, friendship, and adventure, while building skills in teamwork, leadership, and community spirit. Helped by the grant, the 18th Hebden Bridge Scout Group troop can look forward to a fresh start with the resources they need. See more about the group – meeting places, times etc. at 18th Hebden Bridge | Scouts.
The reopening fills a crucial gap in local youth provision, especially given the oversubscription in neighbouring troops at Todmorden and Mytholmroyd. The new troop aims to grow to 24 members by summer 2025 and will collaborate with other groups to provide Scouting closer to home for many young people.
We congratulate the 18th Calder Valley Scouts on this exciting new chapter and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on young people and the wider Hebden Bridge area. The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge remains dedicated to supporting grassroots initiatives that build skills, confidence, and community spirit among young people.
