We are delighted to donate another £1,000 to the Rotary End Polio project—part of Rotary International’s global initiative to eradicate polio. Thanks to the generosity of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, every £1 we raise is matched with £2, so our donation is worth an amazing £3,000 for the fight against polio!

Key Facts:

• Since 1985, Rotary and its partners have immunized more than 2.5 billion children across 122 countries, reducing polio cases by 99.9% worldwide.

• Polio remains endemic in only two countries: Afghanistan and Pakistan—but as long as it exists anywhere, children everywhere are at risk.

• Polio is a highly infectious disease that can cause irreversible paralysis, mostly in young children, and can be fatal if breathing muscles are affected.

• The work also supports clean water, bed nets, and basic healthcare alongside vaccinations.

• Rotary is currently responding to new outbreaks, such as in Gaza, where conflict has disrupted vaccination and put children at risk.
